Founders E. Claiborne Robins and his wife Lora M. Robins were compassionate, empathetic, and approachable leaders who valued integrity, ethical practices, and generosity. As thoughtful philanthropists and visionaries, they used their wealth to improve the quality of life in the Richmond community. The Robins Foundation values ​​his legacy and seeks to honor his example through our philanthropic work.

We are keen to invest in programs that enrich families and neighborhoods as a whole. We are particularly interested in children, in their success and in their academic opportunities. We will support organizations and projects for children ages 0-18, and their parents / caregivers, to ensure that children are ready for kindergarten, participate in school, thrive academically, and graduate on time, with the necessary skills and opportunities to the success.

Our work is based on the vision of the founders, to improve the quality of life and foster a better and stronger Richmond for all. To do this, it is important that we understand the current state of education in Richmond and how it affects the region as a whole. Gaining a deeper understanding of the aspirations of the community we serve has given us the means to craft a vision that we believe is true to their hopes and values.
