At Robins Foundation, we partner with innovative, big thinkers and organizations working to transform our community with new solutions to old problems. One such organization is Girls For A Change (GFAC) which works to promote black health, education, rights and community development in Central Virginia by empowering black girls and other girls of color to advance their 21st Century skills and visualize their full potential.
GFAC sees their focus on empowering and uplifting black girls and young women – a population whose needs are most unmet – as a first step to ending prejudice, poverty and the lack of resources that leave girls and young women of color vulnerable at the margins of society.
Through GFAC programs focused on leadership skills, goal-planning, financial literacy, building a network, exposure, community engagement, skill-building, sisterhood building, socio-emotional learning and more, girls create change by engaging in social change projects, and in the process, learn problem-solving skills, and gain knowledge of what it means to change policy and create transformative movements.
We encourage you to learn more about Girls For A Change and how you can support their efforts.
